About Us

Based in Jan Juc on Victoria's Surf Coast, we create artistic apparel and products that capture the wild spirit of our coastline. Our designs celebrate the joy of surfing and honor the ocean, marine life, and wildlife. On our journey we aim to produce items that are not only artistic but built to last. 

Growing up, the Surf Coast has always been such a special place. Having the ocean, the bush and the rivers all so close has meant I have had such a vast playground to enjoy. The raw beauty of the place and the presence of so much wild life makes it hard to beat. Most of my best memories have been jumping in a car with some mates and heading south on the Great Ocean Road looking for surf and having wild camping trips. This is what inspires me as an artist and designer. My love of surfing and the environment that surrounds it.

I started Dark Sands in 2025 not only as a vehicle for my own creativity but as an opportunity to find, support and promote other like minded people that share this vision. We promote originality and hand drawn designs. We feel they convey a depth of meaning that goes far beyond a simple logo. Just like in surfing, having a diverse range of styles and perspectives makes things much more interesting and inspiring. With this brand, I aim to showcase this spirit.  

As a brand, we are also dedicated to being mindful of our impact on the planet. We are committed to partnering with printers, manufacturers, and suppliers who prioritise ethical and environmentally conscious practices. From compostable mailbags to solar powered printing facilities, we are exploring innovative ways to adopt sustainable practices.
